Artificial lights have been all the rage since Thomas Edison perfected the electric “incandescent lamp” in 1879. However, candles — the most common source for lighting the night before 1879 — remain a fixture in many people’s lives. They are no substitute for lightbulbs in terms of practicality, but they are superior in providing atmosphere, especially when scented.

March 6, 2019 will mark the start of Epcot’s 25^th International Flower & Garden Festival.
