Disney created quite a strong character following in the 1970's with "The Jungle Book" movie. Now, word has been out for a while that Disney Studios will be looking to recreate the Jungle Book phenomenon for a new, younger audience. Recently, some names have been announced as being part of the new live-action and animated re-formulation of the story.

And some big names have been cast as the various voices of the animated animals to surround the lone actor, a 10-year-old named Neel Sethi who will play lead character Mowgli. The movie will be directed by Jon Favreau ("Elf") and is expected to be released in October 2015.

Featured voices for the movie include Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken and Ben Kingsley, with megastar Bill Murray recently announced as the voice of Baloo, the bear that befriended and cared for Mowgli in the original story.

If you were a fan of the original "Jungle Book" story, then you might be, like us, eagerly anticipating this modern interpretation developed by Disney Studios and directed by one of the well-regarded modern-day directors in Favreau, who is known for creating funny and heartwarming stories.
