Larry Nikolai graduated from California State University, Northridge, in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Two Dimensional Art, and Fine Art Painting. In 1973 he was hired at Magic Mountain, and spent the next eight years there. After that, he spent a number of years working at various animatronic and special effect shops, including 5 years working in the Saturday Morning Cartoon Business. Hired by Disney in 1990, Larry spent the next 28 years designing various Disney Merchandise Shops, Attractions, Hotels and Restaurants. Traveling extensively while working for the Disney Theme Parks Worldwide, Larry Nikolai retired from Disney as Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering in 2018.
