Walt Disney World is rightly famed for its theme parks, but there are other ways to have fun in the resort. We’re not even talking about the hotel amenities, as enjoyable as they can be. For example, fans of club-and-ball sports can put their putting skills to the test in any of a variety of golf courses. These fairways combine professional designs, exceptional service, and that classic Disney touch. Our outline below can help you plan your next trip.

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course was good enough for the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, and Audubon International’s Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary standards. Surely, it’s good enough for golf fans of all stripes. Players can enjoy gorgeous scenery, a country club-style setting, and plenty of obstacles.

Architect Joe Lee designed the greens to provide pleasure but offer a challenge. Accuracy is key for a low stroke count here. The seventh hole is especially notorious for forcing players to aim at an island. Overall, pros and novices alike can be entertained.

We should warn, though, that the 18 holes can take a while to cover. You’d be wise to bring a Minnie Mouse golf umbrella in case the Sunshine State’s rains start pouring.

Disney’s Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf

Golf is not the only club-and-ball experience at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf, opened in 1996, shrinks the play areas without detracting from the challenge. Purchasing entry costs $14 for adults and $12 for kids, cheaper than the resort’s other greens.

That price grants you and your companions access to not one, but two exciting mini-golf courses. The Gardens is the more family-friendly option, with more holes that rely on luck and statues of characters and locales from the landmark film. The Fairway, which emphasizes skill, resembles a compact version of a regular golf course. Either experience can be quick and delightful for everyone, especially with a Donald Duck-themed Disney golf ball.

Disney’s Palm Golf Course

Florida’s natural environments are beautiful, unique, and worth experiencing. Out-of-state visitors can get a taste at Disney’s Palm Golf Course. These greens exchange the manicured country club design for one that better incorporates existing flora, fauna, and other wild elements. You may even encounter genuine Florida wildlife. Don’t forget to stop the game sometimes and take in the beauty around you.

Everything is controlled, of course, and people can still enjoy a round of golf. This fairway can be rather challenging. Most of its nine holes feature water traps, and almost 60 bunkers are built into the design. That just makes it even more thrilling when you land your ball in the hole. You can even get a Palm-themed golf hole flag as a souvenir from your expedition.
